The Met Gala, the biggest night of the year of fashion, is officially there!

In recent years, more and more athletes have received coveted invitations to the renowned annual fundraising campaign, which offers a guest list with around 450 top -class people from technology, sports, art, entertainment and more.

This year, sports are at the top of the gala formula 1 star Lewis Hamilton as a co-chair. Los Angeles Lakers star Lebron James was appointed honorary chair, but was expelled at the last minute due to a knee injury.

The topic of every year is inspired by the annual spring exhibition of the museum. The exhibition 2025 is entitled “Superfine: Tailoring the Black Style” and the associated dress code is “tailored for you”. It is about tailor -made and fit through the history and meaning of black dandyism in the Atlantic diaspora. The 2025 Met Gala is the first to focus exclusively on black designers, and the first in more than 20 years to organize a men’s fashion topic.

This year, the donation gala organizes a group of black male prominent, including Hamilton, the music artist and Louis Vuitton Menswear director Pharrell Williams, the actor and playwright Colman Domingo, who was awarded the Emmy Award, and the Grammy-nominated rapper and fashion icon A $ AP Rocky. At the beginning of this year, the Met announced that the WNBA and comprises a guest committee for the evening Chicago Sky star Angel Reese and Olympic gold medalist Sha’carri Richardson and Simone Biles (plus their husband Chicago Bears Safety Jonathan Owens).

The 2025 event has already introduced $ 3,1 million for the support of the New York Metropolitan Museum of Art, in particular the curation budget for the museum’s costume institute.
