The iconic defender of Liverpool Trent Alexander-Arnold announced on Monday that he is leaving the English club after 20 years, while several reports have indicated that he will go to Real Madrid in the summer of 2025 as a free agent. The English defender announced his decision, a decision that was certainly not unexpected, and posted an emotional video through his social media channels.
“After 20 years at Liverpool Football Club, it is now time for me to confirm that I will leave at the end of the season. This is easy to make the most difficult decision I have ever made in my life. I know that many of you have wondered why, or have been frustrated that I have not yet spoken about this, but it was always my intention to keep my full focus, that no.
“This club has been all my life – my whole world – for 20 years. From the academy to date, the support and love that I have felt of everyone inside and outside the club will stay with me forever. I will have debts for all of you. But I have never known anything else and I have had a new challenge, I have experienced a new day here.
Liverpool Football Club has also confirmed the decision of their player: “The 26-year-old will bring his two decades-long associations to an end to the Reds for two decades after he has taken the decision to leave Anfield as soon as his deal will deviate on 30 June 2025. Alexander-Arnold will deviate from our gratitude during a lasting and appreciation.”
