Stephen Curry vs. Sabrina Ionescu 3-point shooting event won’t happen this year
On the 2025 NBA All-Star Weekend there will be no Stephen Curry against Sabrina Ioneescu’s fight.

The talks lasted for weeks to try to achieve this and even extended to the all-star week. It seemed more than logical that a retirement would occur; The all-star weekend is located on Curry’s home floor this weekend, and Ionescu, who is watching the Bay Area, the Curry and Golden State Warriors for the New York Liberty WNBA champion.
“We couldn’t end up in a plan that we thought it would increase the bar of the special moment of last year,” said NBA spokesman Mike Bass. “We all agreed not to continue and will instead concentrate on the new format of the All-Star Sunday.”
Curry said he wanted the reservations to take place, and there were discussions that it was done this year a 2-to-2 format-as possible with Klay Thompson, Curry’s former Warriors teammate, and the ruling WNBA- Rookie of the year Caitlin Clark.

The 2-on-2 conversations seemed to fall apart in the past few weeks, although the NBA had the hope of bringing a form of Curry vs. Ionescu back-possibly even in the line-up on Sunday evening between the games of the new All-Star game Mini tournament and not part of the All-Star Saturday like a year ago.
“We talked about finding various ways to change this next year,” said Ionescu after the event of last year – when she and Curry both made it clear that you wanted to bring the competition back this year. “I think he has a partner in mind that will join him. So I am open to every partner who could help me win and take the belt that he has in advance and moves away from him.”
Curry defeated Ionescu 29-26 in Steph against Sabrina competition last season, the first of the kind of this kind that he has at the league weekend show case. The competition produced money for their foundations.
