NWSL Power Rankings: Kansas City Current the class of the league, but Washington Spirit not far behind

The regular season of 2025 NWSL returned from an international window and the short break was worth waiting. With the half point of the season just a few weeks away, it seems that this can be the perfect time to reset my power rankings. The problem with that is, although there was a small break in the schedule and my ranking, when it comes to the power form, not much has shifted between teams.
Kansas City is still who they are, competition animals, who destroy their enemies. San Diego’s schedule structure is on a fast road, full steam forward. The center of the peloton is a complete gray final, with blurry lines, and Chicago and Utah just try to get through it. If you keep track of where teams are compared to where they are going, my previous power rankings Will drop some hints.
Week 12 will be here soon, so don’t miss an action. Fans can view Selected NWSL regular season races CBS” CBS Sports Network” Paramount+and CBS Sports Golazo Network.
Now, time for our ranking:
2025 NWSL Power Rankings
1. |
Kansas City Current |
– |
Temwa Chawinga is still looking for an NWSL Golden Boot -Hereling, and the team has been able to manage injuries for the time being. There is busy that is accompanied by the first time, but the midwest side makes it easy. |
2. |
Washington Spirit |
– |
Spirit will soon say goodbye to their current head coach, while Jonatan Giraldez will go to Lyon in July, but it is the players who get it done, regardless of the sidelines. |
3. |
Orlando Proud |
– |
Orlando looks defeated this season. They are still top layer and show others that it will take a huge 90 -minute venture to beat them. Champions find a way and on the way to week 12, defender Cori Dyke is the hero this week. |
4. |
San Diego Wave FC |
– |
A team that could not buy a goal last season is few problems finding the net this year, but they had trouble getting home during week 11. It was not because of a lack of effort, but they cannot jump for the top three quite powerfully for the time being. |
5. |
Seattle Reign FC |
+3 |
The reign is a bit striped for me this year, but I welcome that in the Power rangers, and perhaps it is the unpredictability that the charts will increase. Manager Laura Harvey rotates players and shakes tactics to keep them a threat. |
6. |
Angel City FC |
– |
New head coach Alexander Straus made his sidelines debut and was shown how talented their younger players are, but setting up with points against a wrestling side raises questions while marching half the point of the season. |
7. |
Gotham FC |
-2 |
Another team that had a strange first half of the season, managing injuries and a difficult schedule. They played like a team that had a bump from their recent Concacaf W Champions Cup victory, but it feels like this will not be the last time they fall into the ranking. |
8. |
Portland Thorns FC |
-1 |
Portland had many chances and often had a lot better during week 11, but simply couldn’t take advantage of their momentum. Unfortunately it will be a trend and they will continue to fall into the ranking if they don’t turn it around. |
9. |
Racing Louisville FC |
+1 |
I have seen this film before. Racing goes on a nice piece of competitions and walk for the play -off line – but on the exact wrong time of the season. I want to believe that this is the year, but I also have to see more from Louisville against BonaFide contenders. |
10. |
North Carolina courage |
-1 |
The group had one of the better matches of the season up to and including 11 weeks, and they still could not manage victory. It is a week of silver linings with increased play by Courtnee Vine and Manaka Matsukubo. |
11. |
Bay FC |
+1 |
A story of better, but is it enough? Seems to have followed Bay FC for week one. It was enough to climb the ranking, but not sure of the long term. |
12. |
Houston Dash |
-1 |
Nothing more painful than holding one of the elites of the competition to a scoreless 90 minutes and then admitting it in a stopping time. A difficult loss, but a loss that could motivate them on their way to week 12. |
13. |
Utah Royals FC |
+1 |
Utah’s midfield grows in shape and functions as a promising kickstarter. The end product simply has not been there this year and the season will continue to run away from them. |
14. |
Chicago Stars FC |
-1 |
Interim manager Masaki Hemmi shifted the formation around and it almost threw off until it didn’t. The long season for Chicago continues. |
