NHL Playoffs 2025: Stuart Skinner’s second consecutive shutout earns 3 Stars of the Night nod

The Edmonton Oilers advance to the end of the Western Conference on the strength of the attached descents of anything else than Stuart Skinner. On the other side of the Nhl Playoff Bracket, the Florida panthers pushed the Toronto Maple Leafs on the shores of the elimination with large Aaron Ekblad and Sergei Bobrovsky games.

After a Calamit start in the series of the first round against the Kings of Los Angeles, Skinner was in favor of Calvin Pickard, who directed the Oilers to five consecutive wins of the later season. When Pickard hurt the game 2 against the Golden Knights, Skinner had a second chance and took advantage of it.

In Game 5, Skinner stopped the 24 shots he faced by his second consecutive stop. This allowed the Oilers to remain in the game until Kasperi Kapanen buried the extension winner.

In Toronto, the panthers hit the maple leaves, 6-1. It was an exhaustive dismantling from the beginning to the end, and two panthers emphasized. Ekblad dominated the hard hard minutes, while Bobrovsky again frustrated a loaded Toronto striker.

We highlight some of the best performances in all the Playoffs of the NHL Wednesday with our 3 stars of the night.

Sergei Bobrovsky | G | Florida Panthers

Bobrovsky was only 64 seconds from the return stops against Maple Leafs, but despite the lack of his record tonight, he was tremendous again. Bobrovsky has launched a switch and looks even better than what he did when he directed Florida to the Stanley Cup last summer.

With the panthers opening a great advantage, the maple leaves threw 32 shots on Bobrovsky, and 31 were turned away from them. None of his savings was better than his first stop of the period at Matthew Knies when Bobrovsky split after a wild rebound from the final boards. Bobrovsky finished the game with a savings percentage of Danger .875 and 1.17 goals saved above average, For statistical natural trick.

Aaron Ekblad | D | Florida Panthers

Ekblad has had a tumultuous post -season, serving two separate suspensions in each of the first two rounds. Although you could wait for this kind of thing to eliminate a player in his game, Ekblad has played well and was an important factor in the dismantling of Maple Leafs Florida in match 5.

At the end of the first period, Ekblad pulled a snapshot over Anthony Stolarz’s shoulder to open the score. He also added an attendance at Sam Bennett’s Power Power’s goal. Perhaps the most impressive part of Ekblad’s night was that it had its five minutes of five minutes, many of which came against William Nylander and John Tavares. According to Natural Stat Trick, Ekblad was Plus-14 in the attempts of shooting and Plus-12 to mark the possibilities with both teams with all the strength.

Stuart Skinner | G | Edmonton Oilers

Kasperi Kapanen undoubtedly deserves a cry for his goal of overtime winners in the series, but Skinner is the story here. Skinner lost his initial job in the first round because he played so badly, and he only got the fold due to an injury to Calvin Pickard. He has taken this second opportunity and has now promoted Edmonton in the final of the Western Conference.

With 24 Savings in Game 5, Skinner published the Golden Knights terraced downloads to help seal a series victory for the Oilers. In Wednesday night game, Edmonton Defense allowed only two shots of great support in almost 70 minutes, but Skinner still saved 1.63 goals above average. While the Oilers’ defensive play has improved dramatically, Skinner’s change has also been amazing. A couple of weeks ago, I had difficulty stopping a shot of any kind, and now has ended the season of another Western Conference Juggernaut.
