MLS Archive Collection kit rankings: San Jose Earthquakes’ Clash jerseys, FC Dallas’ Burn kits lead the way
As part of a celebration of the history of Major League Soccer, the competition has released the MLS archive collection of 10 new Throwback Jerseys for teams around the competition. Some of these bring iconic appearance, but others stretch the meaning of what a throwback actually is. For MLS -Original clubs with 30 years of history now, or where their brands have now changed, it makes sense to throw things back a few years, but for others that is not really the case.
It is similar to last season when Under Miami got a throwback sweater. While it was best NiceA team that played their first match in 2020 is much too new for a throwback. But with Lionel MessiAll things are possible, and don’t worry, in the releases of this season there is an even worse perpetrator in a team that only played three seasons in MLS. But when sweaters are released, they must be arranged from the worst to the best, so let’s go there.
10. Charlotte FC
There is a lot going on here, and most is not good. The crown logo is excellent, but this entire setup gives Seattle Sounders mood. There is also the fact that Charlotte only played their first game in 2022 only gets a throwback. There is a lot of football history in the city of Charlotte, but that does not exist with this specific club. Even strictly designing is room for improvement here.
9. Nashville SC
See, Charlotte. Nashville has a little more claim because of the United Soccer League, but they just looked at a sweater and said: “Groovy Baby” in their best voice of Austin Powers. Nashville has good colors; They have had good alternatives, and for this they just hit some things on a white shirt and mentioned a day.
8. DC United
There is not much of men’s football at the moment in the district, and this sweater won’t give you much either. It is a historic sweater that throws it back to their inaugural season, but it is far from flashy. For those who enjoy classics, it is solid, but there are much better sweaters on the list.
7. New England Revolution
This is not bad, and the absorption of the Crayon flag in the entire top of the sweater is a good touch, but it feels like something is missing.
6. Colorado Rapids
A normal sweater is stored by an absolutely excellent logo. It would be great if the rapids went back these full -time, but even without it it is good to have it in the rotation again.
5. Columbus Crew
A bit like new EnglandIt feels like something is missing in this sweater. The cadence works better because of the selection of colors, which makes the sweater himself look like a miner who fits the logo is enough to push things up, but there is a big opening between this and the next four sweaters on the list.
4. Seattle Sounders
Love, love, love the Orka logo. The colors and trim are beautiful and the arms also add a lot. Seattle simply makes great sweaters and this is another who realizes their reputation.
3. Minnesota United
It was difficult not to place this at number one. The numbers, the letters, the gradient, it’s all great. Minnesota United has done an excellent job to look back on their history to design this, and it is something that also looks great on the field.
2. San Jose Earthquakes (Collide)
The collision was such an epic name, and it is a pity that it is no longer in the regular circulation. But this sweater screams in the best ways the 70s. It is daring, lively, and either you will love it or hate it without in between. Nostalgia may have put this above Minnesota, but I make the rules here.
1. FC Dallas (Burn)
Another rebrand that I wanted to be there regularly hit FC Dallas from the park. Compared to the collision, it is a bit safer, but that also makes this an excellent sweater that can work on or out of the field for multiple functions. It is also such a sweet logo.
