MLB All-Star Game illustrates how good — and easy! — the ABS challenge system can be
Atlanta – ABS system was first used an MLB Tuesday all-Star game, and it’s hard work, I hope that any naysayers are there, how good is this system for the game.
Tigers Ace Tarik Skubal passed at the bottom of the first lingerie in prompt difficulties, which allows two runs to score and resist the second second. Manny Machado’s 0-2 pitch pressed the bottom of the strike zone, but the ball was named through home plate: Umpire Dan Iassogna. The American League Catcher Cal Raleigh immediately touched the head by throwing a signal challenge.
Raleigh’s sign, a schedule where the playing field crossed the strike zone appeared on the billboard and informed everyone that it actually went on a strike. The call has failed and Machado has been called to look at the Third Strike. This added maybe 15 seconds of the game, the most.
When people refer to this as “robots umps”, I feel that there is negative wisdom loaded in that phrase that should really not be there.
The ABS system, of course, is an automated ball strike. It is a system that allows strikes, pitchers or hunters balls and strikes challenge. The challenges are covered, and they have been doing this in minor leagues for years. Basic League baseball used it in the spring region and my hunting would be implemented for the next season (Commissioner Rob Manfred already said He will offer it for 2026)
My answer good
Complaints tend to come from people who do not understand the system and think that the “robot Umpps” means that each ball strikes will come through the car. You will listen to people talking about how much they love the “human element” and how should everything you need to review everything.
We don’t do that at all. View the above underline. Check for the rest of the star game. There is still a human soldier who make calls behind the house plate. Challenges are limited and can only be used twice by each team.
The rating even had those listed next to the mistakes.
This does not accept a full minute, such as Replay Review can get out / safe calls. This is not a situation where the manager gets on the phone to see if the team’s video believes that he should call his decision on the phone. other Umps look at the screens. This is an immediate call from one of the parties involved since it was Raley. We cannot say that there is no delay, but it is only an incredibly small pause, which can happen several times a game.
Every time the player asks the ABS, they preach to the approval of human element in baseball. This system keeps it when it allows you to replace just a few bad calls.
What doesn’t you like? Mistakes are fixed with very little noise or delay. Fame Hall Catcher Joe Mauer is about all that and I have said much.
“Umps are human. They miss the bells the way we miss the games so they are there trying to do everything right The CBS Sports said this last monthA number of “If we can implement this system and be effective with it and make the game better, I will definitely for everyone.”
That’s the other, to consider talking about the human element. No Umpires Wanting Game-ALLTERING Missed Clress depends on their heads. Umpiring is one of those things you only notice for bad things. No one wants to be in the spotlight on the balls and strikes. They want to get every call right, but if they can’t get one in a big place, there is a mechanism that it will fix it with ABS. It’s mostly backed up.
All-Star game once again proved how smooth and easy ABS is. It would be good for baseball when it is fully implemented in MLB.
