Lucius stated that he was diagnosed with ehlers-Danlos syndrome, a condition that affects the connective tissue that supports the joint and organs. Due to Ehler-Danlos Syndrome, Lucius treated several joint injuries in recent seasons.
“After much discussion and consultation with Chaz, its medical representatives and professionals, the Winnipeg Jets Hockey Club fully supports its difficult decision to withdraw -the jets, said in a statement. “The state of Chaz and the struggles with Ehlers-Danlos (EDS) syndrome put it at risk of injury if he continues to play a professional level, so we understand his choice.
“We wish Chaz to be the best in his efforts to be a defender of those who deal with EDS and we look forward to a brilliant future in front of him.”
Lucius was selected with selection number 18 of 2021 Nhl Draft by the jets. He ended his registration time in the U.S. National Selection Development Program before playing two seasons at the University of Minnesota.
