Hurricanes vs. Panthers scores, schedule, odds, where to watch as Florida hammers Carolina 5-2 in Game 1
The Florida panthers have an advantage of the 1-0 series on the hurricanes of Carolina in the final of the Eastern Conference. A few days after winning game 7 in Toronto so that it took place, the panthers stormed the hurricanes with a 5-2 victory in match 1.
As expected, there was not much space for either team in this game. However, the panthers seemed to find a little more light of the day on the net and around. This was certainly the case when Carter Verhaeghe opened the score for Florida.
With the panthers in the game of power, Verhaeghe got the blow to the low slot, went to his hand and raised a perfect shot on Frederik Andersen’s shoulder to give cats a 1-0 advantage.
Verhaeghe ended with two points at night, as Evan Rodrigues did, who helped the first goal of Aaron Ekblad’s first period. Ekblad found a tremendous series against the maple leaves, Ekblad found the back of the net with a seed that sounded the stick and behind Andersen.
Throughout this playoff, the Panthers have been contributing from the up and down line, and this was the case on Tuesday night. Aj Greer, Sam Bennett and Eetu Luostarinen added the other three highs for Florida.
Despite the offensive outburst, the panthers did not need much offense in this one. Sergei Bobrovsky faced 33 shots from the hurricanes, and stopped 31 as he maintained his elite form.
On the other side of the ice, hurricanes had difficulty maintaining any offense against the panthers. Carolina’s offense played well during the first two rounds, but none of the teams (the capitals and devils) presented the type of defensive challenge that Florida makes.
Sebastian Aho scored the first goal of the canes, and it was a bit controversial. With less than a minute remaining in the first period, Aho redirected the blow to the net with the back of the skate, and the target was confirmed after a review determined that there was no killing movement.
It was as lively as Lenovo’s center would get on Tuesday night, and Andersen had a particularly hard departure. The hurricanes did not play a terrible defense. They surrendered only 20 shots to the goal, but five of these defeated Andersen.
Cannes have lost 13 final games of the Eastern Conference that goes back to the 2009 playoffs. On Thursday they will have the opportunity to finish this streak in match 2, but the panthers may have something to say about it.
