How Pat Spencer, a college lacrosse record-holder, made the Golden State Warriors
Pat Spencer is too familiar with the fact that he defies the chances. Long before he was recognized as one of the biggest players of the lacrosse at the college of all time, Spencer was cut off from his diversity of lacrosse team as a high school Sophomore.
This was just one of the many obstacles that Spencer interfered in his diverse sports career, which last led him to a two -way contract with the Golden State Warriors, with which he debuted by the NBA 25 February 2024.
In the Lacrosse College community, Spencer and Loyola Maryland (2016-19) consolidated as a legend of the game during his days in Loyola Maryland (2016-19). The four -year appetizer had a famous career with Greyhounds and won the Tewaaraton Award (College Lacrosse equivalent to Heisman) during his 2019 season.

He was then chosen for the first time in the opening proposal of the Premier Lacrosse League in 2019, but after Spencer dominated for four years, he wanted to get hard wood.
He held one year of university athletic competence, which remained as a transfer of graduates and on this occasion he plunged into Windy City to play basketball on Northwestern.
Although Spencer did not play basketball competitively from high school, he had a strong background on hard wood and led his high school to the first state title in 25 years in 2015.
In his training with Northwestern Spencer, Wildcats’s coach Chris Collins impressed his athletic and quickly showed that he could hold his own in court and tear through the standard of specialization for one sport.
Guardian 6-3 on average 10.4 points per game in large basketball, which is not easy performance-especially after he did not compete from high school. The 29 out of the 31 games in which he played began, also average four rebounds and four assists for the game.
The end of his university career was marked at the beginning of Covid-19. Many of Spencer’s positions would probably call it an end, or maybe they may have returned to a sport for which he had a talent so clearly, but Spencer was never one who would take a traditional journey.
Spencer decided to continue his basketball career in Hamburg Towers, Germany after the design of the NBA 2020. After playing only five games in Germany, October 25, 2021, it was signed in the capital G-League Washington Wizards.
This was the first tangible springboard to become the Spector’s final goal to become a NBA player. On average, only 13 minutes per game scored about six points per game/two rebounds/two assists per game, while shooting 39 percent of three.
After his stint with GO-GOS, Spencer was signed up with an exhibition 10 with Santa Cruz Warriors, an associated company G-League Golden State Warriors in July 2022.
Spencer played well during what was basically celebrated, but in a league that can only hold 15 players in the list in the regular season, it has been said that they will not grant the NBA Warriors list, nor get a two -way contract.
He continued Grind with Santa Cruz warriors until he was introduced in an unknown territory – two main injuries requiring surgery. On all days of Spencer’s medium and university days he never had injuries that he could feel he couldn’t play, but if he wanted to continue his dream, it was an unfortunate necessity.
After recovery from the hip surgery and wrist, Spencer re -joined the warriors Santa Cruz in November 2023. From the gate, Spencer looked as if this season was not to miss a step on average, an average of 12.5 points, and 5.4 rebounds to 37.7 percent of deep shooting – only slightly above the NBA average of 36.7 percent.
Spencer finally had an escape he dreamed of about his back when he worked for Collins in Northwestern – and coach Golden State Warriors Steve Kerr noticed.

22 February 2024 Spencer signed a two -way contract with Golden State Warriors, basically an agreement that gives Spencer the opportunity to get NBA playing time and compete for Santa Cruz warriors. These contracts are usually reserved for young stars, so Spencer, now 27 years old, certainly impressed to obtain this agreement.
Five years after the rejection of the premiere of Lacrosse League, Spencer debuted NBA 25 February against Denver Nuggets.
Spencer appeared in six games in the 2023-2024 season, but so far, from 8 February in the NBA 2024-2025 season, appeared in 21 competitions and on average almost eight minutes of the game. 10th January in the match with Indiana Pacers Spencer dropped by 17 points by 17 points by 17 points.

The legend Loyola seems to have found its place in the NBA and it will be interesting to see how far he can take his talent for hard wood long after controlling the college lacrosse.
