Former Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey charged with five counts of rape, one count of sexual assault

Former Arsenal -midfielder Thomas Peny is accused of five counts of rape and one count of sexual violence. The incidents took place between 2021 and 2022, said the Metropolitan Police, with investigations into the football player who started in February of the last year after the police had received a report of rape for the first time.

The charges include three counts of rape on one woman, two seconds on another and an extra indictment for sexual attack on a third woman. Partey’s lawyer said on Friday that he denies all charges against him and “welcomes the opportunity to finally erase his name”.

The five -year association of Pedey with Arsenal ended on Tuesday after the contract he signed after his relocation of Atletico Madrid in October 2020.

Partey will appear at the Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday 5 August.

We know that there will be a significant public interest in this announcement, but it is absolutely vital that there is no reporting, commentary or sharing information online that can harm this procedure in any way.”

Partey, a 53 CAP Ghanaian international, made 167 performances for Arsenal after they had activated a release clause of $ 60 million in his contract to sign him from Atletico Madrid, where he had won the Europa League and La Liga. Arsenal is contacted for comment.
