Al-Nassr is ready for rival Newcastle United, with whom they share owners, in the pursuit of Yoane Wissa, according to CBS Sports Sources. The Saudi side is considered willing to the asking price of Brentford for the Dr. Congo International to match a movement that can prove to be a different setback in what is a disastrous transfer window for Newcastle.

Wissa has emerged as one of the leading candidates of Newcastle to strengthen their attack in a summer where they missed a series of goals, including the former teammate Bryan Mbeumo of the attacker. A bid of a maximum of $ 40.3 million was rejected by Brentford and opened the window for Al-Nassr to dive.

A relocation of the Club of Cristiano Ronaldo would undoubtedly turn out to be controversial on Tyneside, since the two clubs are both owned by PIF. The Saudi Sovereine Wealth Fund bought a majority interest in Newcastle in October 2021, just over 18 months later it invested in four of the leading Pro League clubs in the midst of a stream of expenditure in the kingdom. Without the PSR style of PSR style at Al-Nassr, their squadrons have been considerably strengthened at a time when Newcastle has had difficulty adding to theirs. While battles between the Saudi quartet to obtain central financing for a signature is not unusual, this is a rare opportunity when one of PIF’s Pro League clubs is placed against their Premier League counter.

It is still to be seen whether Wissa would be so open to a move to Saudi Arabia if he is understood as for Newcastle, who can offer Champions League football to the 28-year-old. Wissa returned to the training in Brentford earlier this week after the start of the club in Portugal’s pre-season camp, but the attacker still wants to leave the club for whom he scored 19 Premier League goals in 2024-25.

Al-Nassr would be obliged to make room in their team if they are successful in their pursuit of Wissa. Saudi clubs are limited to 10 foreign players in their team, two of whom have to be 23 or younger at the start of the season. The Riyadh club is supposed to be open to offers for both Sadio Mane and Otavio, while Aymeric Laporte is also free to leave because of the upcoming arrival of Barcelona Center Back Inigo Martinez.
