Canadian fans have exposed a little patience waiting for the Stanley Cup to return north of the border. How long will they have to wait? Maybe not long with Edmonton Oilers in the Stanley Cup final for the second consecutive season.

On June 9, 1993, the Montreal Canadiens went around the Stanley Cup after defeating the Los Angeles Kings in five games. “Jurassic Park” was doing the competition at the box office. “Roseanne” and “Improvement” were almost every TV in America. Janet Jackson’s “That Is the Way Love Goes” passed the billboard graphs.

Since then, the Stanley Cup has resided in the United States for 32 years in a row.

Entering the Stanley Cup final, there is only one Canadian team. After falling 2-0 in their first round against the Kings of Los Angeles, the Oilers spent 14-2 as they demolished the Golden Golden Knights and Dallas star in only five games.

Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl are at the height of their powers and lead the NHL in the later season score. The team’s defense was awesome to see, and Stuart Skinner has marked between the pipes after losing his initial work before the playoffs.

Everything is clicking on Edmonton, but will face a family and formidable family enemy in the Stanley Cup final. The Florida panthers defeated the Oilers in seven games to capture the Cup a year ago, and they could even be a little better this time.

The last four wins will be the hardest for the Oilers, but they have all the pieces to bring the Stanley Cup to the north of the border for the first time since 1993. Until then, here is the Stanley Cup drought from all Canadian teams.
