NHL Playoffs 2025: Stanley Cup Final schedule, bracket, scores, as Oilers meet Panthers in rematch

The Edmonton Oilers and Florida Panthers will meet in a resale of the Stanley Cup. On Thursday night, the Oilers finished the final of the Western Conference with a 6-3 victory over the Dallas Stars in match 5.

Although the stars were the team with their backs against the wall, the oilers were the most desperate squad of the opening. Corey Perry scored a power goal only 2:31 in the game, and Edmonton was out of operation. Shortly after Perry broke the ice, Mattias Janmark scored in a break through a poorly timed line change by the stars.

This goal, the second of so many traits for Edmonton, was enough for Dallas coach Pete Deboer to give the goalkeeper to Jake Oettinger the hook.

Casey Smith replaced Oettinger and quickly gave up Playoff’s first 15-year-old Playoff goal from Jeff Skinner, giving the Oilers a 3-0 advantage in the first period.

Dallas managed to go back and reach the score 3-2, but that was when Connor McDavid threw his head. After a blocked shot left Oilers and Center Gel, McDavid shook the jets to beat Roope Hintz in the loose peck and went out of Desmith to the break.

McDavid finished the game with a goal and assistance, and was at his best in this series of series. His career companion, Leon Draisaitl, also scored a couple of points in the form of two assists.

In addition, Perry’s first period was his seventh of the playoffs, which set a record for any player over 39 years. Perry has given the Oilers a valuable depth of their presence thanks to their presence around the fold.

Now that they go to the Stanley Cup final, the Oilers will get a family enemy. The panthers have just sent Carolina hurricanes easily and seek to repeat as cup champions. Edmonton surpassed a 3-0 deficit to force a game 7 by 2024, but can the job finish this time?
