NHL Playoffs 2025: Stanley Cup schedule, bracket, scores, as Stars shock Oilers with Game 1 comeback

They were not the Indiana Pacers against the New York Knicks, but the Dallas Stars orchestrated a good comeback against Edmonton Oilers in match 1 of the Western Conference Final Wednesday night. 3-1 that entered the third period, the stars lit the Oilers by five goals and a victory of 6-3.

During the first 40 minutes of play, everything went to Oilers manner. Connor McDavid (two points) and Leon Draisaitl (three points) dominated, and the stars were generating very little offense.

All this changed when Edmonton let his discipline slip and Dallas became three consecutive power plays to begin the third period. Miro Heiskanen’s goals, Mikael Granlund and Matt Duchene turned a 3-1 deficit into a 4-3 advantage in only 5:26 of playing time.

Duchene’s winning goal won a 17 -game drought that extended to the regular season. Tyler Seguin also ended with a long drought with two goals and one assistance.

Hopefully the Thursday night game between Carolina Hurricanes and Florida Panthers can provide the same amount of fireworks. Party 1, of course, was not the case as Florida passed to Carolina en route to a victory by 5-2.
