Florida hands No. 1 Texas baseball its second series loss of the season
The best team in the country did not win the series in May after Florida took two of the three games through Texas No. 1 in the weekend series. Gators closed the series with Sunday 4-1 victories, with previous results were 8-2 Gators on Friday and 5-2 longhorns on Saturday.

Florida led 2-0 after the third inning before the home from Brody Donay, in the sixth shift pushed the lead to 3-0. One more run returned home in the seventh shift and gave Gator the jug of Aidan King the advantage of 4-0 before getting out of the game. King ended with nine blows in victory.
Texas finally got on a board with one in the eighth shift, but it was too little, too late.
Florida win Sunday keeps the race with a regular Sec season. Texas had a shot to share the Sec title with victory, but with the loss of longhorns to the last week they will get into the lead of two games.
The loss of Texas’ in Florida comes after Arkansas swept longhorns to open the moon. Overall, it is the loss of the second Texas series in the 2025 season.
