After winning all this, head coach Joda Conradt had to say about the historical performance of his team:
“The first idea was perfection. Every year the champion will be crowned, but the non -deductible champions will create an elite group.”
1994-95 UConn Huskies (35-0)
This elite group would continue to grow because the Geno Auriemma’s Uconn Huskies began to hit their step. This was the first National Championship of the program – and that was some unforgettable because Huskies was the second team that was undefeated.

When the program established itself to the level that Uconn did, Huskies would get the best shot of each team. It wasn’t so much a problem in the regular season. Huskies held teams for less than 50 points more often than not.
Postseason, however, brought several close games. At the Big East tournament, Huskies were held twice under 60, but won with a firm defense. In Stanford’s national title game, he almost caught UConn, but lagged, 53-47.
