Barcelona vs. Inter player ratings: Lamine Yamal near perfect; Denzel Dumfries delivers big time
In an epic match from start to finish, it goes to Italy Level 3-3 after a draw between Barcelona and Inter at Estadi Olimpic Lluis Company on Tuesday in the first stage of the semi-final of the Champions League. Marcus Thuram showed his interest in Inter, returned to the XI for the first time and scored the fastest goal ever in a UCL and final final with his strike 30 seconds in the game. But the 17-year-old Lamine Yamal also showed why there are no words to describe his sparkle, which scored an excellent solo goal at his 100th performance for Barcelona. He almost added another and hit the post in the game, but Barcelona collapsed with Inter’s power of set -theater pieces in the draw.
Denzel Dumfries was able to get a brace of corner kicks, because this game turned into a track -that nobody wanted to end. It could lead to a fairly second part of the promotion between these two teams in Milan, but before we get, it is a good chance to look back at how both teams did in the competition.
Let’s go to players reviews:
Barcelona players reviews
Wojciech Szczesny | 90 | Caught in the land of no-man while Inter benefited from corner kicks, it was a match to forget for the keeper of Barcelona. He will have to improve if Barcelona gets the chance to return to Italy. | 5 |
Gerard Martin | 45 | Withdrawn after the first half of the game in a tactical decision. Just like for Jules Kounde, it was a rough match for the outside. | 5 |
Inigo Martinez | 90 | Had a better day than some of the other Barcelona defenders, but when you admit three goals, it doesn’t matter. | 6 |
Pau Cubarsi | 83 | Just like his partner in the central defense, Cubarsi did not have a great day, but Barcelona was able to sharpen things in the second half of the game to secure a draw. | 6 |
Jules Kounde | 42 | Poorly beaten for the opening goal of Marcus Thuram and then picked up an injury, it was a competition to forget for Kounde. | 5 |
Frenkie de Jong | 90 | Created what opportunities and did well to tap the possession with Pedri, but defense is a team game and almost everyone who does not have to attack in attack. | 6 |
Pedri | 83 | As usual, a great task to keep Barcelona’s attack ahead. There was not much striking from Pedri in the game, but with excellence for him he just had to keep it simple. | 6 |
Dani Olmo | 68 | Bad luck not to score during the game, Olmo drove into spaces when Inter concentrated too much on the wings of Barcelona and Yann Sommer kept honestly in Net. | 7 |
Raphinha | 90 | With an assist and his goal turned into his own goal after he crashed the bar in Sommer, it was again an excellent performance by Raphinha. If Barcelona is going to win this, the Brazilian must maintain this. | 8 |
Ferran Torress | 90 | Without Robert Lewandowski, Torres was able to lead the line and find the back of the net. He perhaps filled the largest position for Barcelona on the field and did enough to keep the attack ahead. | 8 |
Lamine Yamal | 90 | How is he only 17? From his runs to his vision and the ability to shoot everywhere, there is not much that Yamal cannot do on a football field, and his excellence could be seen on Tuesday with his goal and every step he took. | 9 |
Eric Garcia | Jules Kounde | There was nothing flashy from Garcia, but that’s fine, because he was great on the ball, which allowed Barcelona to move forward when he was abruptly taken into action. | 6 |
Ronald Arajo | Gerard Martin | Brought much needed stability at the back. There is an argument that ARAUJO should have started this match, and with his performance by the bank, Flick will have decisions to take in the second stage. | 6 |
Fermin Lopez | Dani Olmo | Held the attack ahead and tested Sommer in the net. For a sub that is fine. | 6 |
Andreas Christensen | Pau Cubarsi | Hansi Flick did not take any risks with Cubarsi on a yellow, and that led to fresh legs in the game. | N / A |
Gavi | Pedri | Came to close the game and didn’t have much time to make an impact, but he kept Barcelona ahead. | N / A |
Hansi film | 5 | Barcelona could easily have been reversed after they have been left with two goals, but they did great to keep things in order. Barcelona will have to work on their set play defense, but it is still a solid version, all taken together. | 6 |
Interplayer reviews
Yann Summer | 90 | Sommer has been excellent during this UCL campaign, but this was a match to forget. Barcelona pogged him with shots, but it scored three goals of an XG of 1.39 with a few goalkeeper errors. Then add your own goal for a icing at the top. | 4 |
Alessandro Bastoni | 90 | Not the best match for Italian. He could not win his individual duels, giving Barcelona extra chances for shots in the box. Although many of these areas from a low percentage came, when a team has the finishers that Barcelona does, everything is dangerous. | 6 |
Francesco Acerbi | 90 | Handle a Defender-to-Defender assistant who came from a set and was healthy in his positioning, so that the opportunities were erased before Barcelona could make them in more goals. | 7 |
Yann Bisseck | 90 | Bisseck filled in for Benjamin Pavard and had difficulty keeping up with Barcelona’s attackers. This is something that is not unusual for most defenders, but it was enlarged with the nature of the game. | 5 |
Federico Dimarco | 56 | Returning injury, Dimarco was able to help in tracing Inter, but spent a lot of energy to keep up with Yamal. | 5 |
Henrikh Mkhitaryan | 90 | Bad luck not to score, it was almost a completely different competition for MKHitaryan. He was not defensively not big, but his creativity helped to make things happen. | 6 |
Hakan Calhanoglu | 71 | Inter used Calhanoglu’s excellent episode of set pieces with great effect, and without this they may not have a chance in this draw. They will take that, but will also hope he can prevent him from picking up a yellow in the second stage. | 7 |
Nicolo Barella | 90 | A quiet match according to the standards of Barella. He was unable to set the pace in midfield, but that was hard to do with dominating Barcelona. | 6 |
Denzel Dumfries | 81 | Excellent, both on set pieces and open game, two goals and an assist from a right back is an excellent production. | 9 |
Marcus Thuram | 81 | Less than a minute in the game, Thuram Inter showed what they missed in the collision. His movement and touch on the ball are excellent, and if Inter wants to win, they need more from him. | 8 |
Lautaro Martinez | 45 | In a first half with four goals, the Argentinian was unable to get involved a lot before he sustained a back injury at the end of half. Not what Int in this huge fixture had in mind. | 5 |
Matteo Darmian | Denzel Dumfries | Came up as new legs and had not to try to defend a barrel outside and to prevent Barcelona from scored a different purpose. | N / A |
Carlos Agusto | Federico Dimarco | Created a few chances and was defensively good, but the wings of Barcelona are a pretty tough assignment. | 6 |
Davide Frattesi | Hakan Calhanoglu | I didn’t get much on the ball because Barcelona actually played at the end of the game. | 6 |
Pitor Zielinski | Marcus Thuram | Came up as new legs and had not to try to defend a barrel outside and to prevent Barcelona from scored a different purpose. | N / A |
Mahdi Tarami | Lautaro Martinez | Came in the game and hardly touched the ball. It was a huge loss in the attack, losing Thuram and if he cannot go into the second stage, it will be a pretty worries. | |
Simone Inzaghi | 5 | Given injury problems and leave for Barcelona, the men of Inzaghi are three goals an excellent output when they are held scoreless in their last three games. The problem is that they also admitted three to be cleaned up. | 7 |
