A’ja Wilson and the Las Vegas Aces

The Acute Its on the way to an underwhelming 9-10 start, and their climb back up the ranking may have become more difficult. Triple MVP A’ja Wilson left the final loss from last night to the Freedom in the second quarter and did not return due to a legal polish injury.

  • Wilson fell awkward on a ride to the edge and tried to delete her fall with her hands. She stayed in the game to shoot free throws and then play a few possessions before she left forever. She sat on the couch with a big wrap on her wrist in the second half.
  • Becky Hammon Wilson said today will have an MRI.
  • Wilson entered the game with an average of 21.9 points, 9.0 rebounds, 3.3 assists, 1.8 steals and 2.6 blocks. Her points, rebounds, steals and blocks of averages led the team and top five in the WNBA.

😟 Not so honorable mentions

🔥 The annual hot seat ranking of Football College

Adam Earlle, CBS Sports

It is the two words that coaches hate to think about, even when they are not thinking about it: “Hot Seat.” They may not like it, but we certainly do that. The annual rankings of CBS Sports are back, with experts in the sports coaches on a scale of 0-5.

Only one coach landed a “perfect” 5, aka “victory or was fired”, but eight – including some big names – landed between 4 and 4.99, AKA “started to improve.” Shehan Jeyarajah walks through it:

  • Brent Venables, Oklahoma (4.67) – “Oklahoma has accepted Venables to prepare SEC, and the program responded with the worst run of the 21st century. … The main reason for optimism is the Transforming investments In Quarterback John Mate And run back Jaydn there. “
  • Mike Gundy, Oklahoma State (4.33) – “The low season has not inspired much optimism and the coordinator who hires are mediocre. But can Oklahoma state really Gundy, the face of the program?”
  • Sam Pitman, Arkansas (4.22) – – “From the best hot chair contenders from last season, Pittman did the least to worry.”
  • Hugh Freeze, Auburn (4.22) – – “Hiring freezing was uncomfortable enough after the way things ended Ole MissAnd one of the worst start of a term of office in program history only makes things worse. Freeze went 11-14 in his first two seasons, because Auburn has been confronted for his worst piece since the 1950s. “

🏀 Why it is time for Trae Young to perform next to the best support cast

Getty images

The Hawk‘Offsean has signed praise reviews and for a good reason.

  • She fleece the Pelicans In a stunning design night trade of all time.
  • She bought Kristaps Porz equis cheap as part of the Celtics‘Salardump.
  • They added Kkkeil Alexander-Walker in one to register with the WoodenPicking up a versatile defender and solid perimeter shot – the exact archetype you are looking for in today’s NBA.
  • They have signed Luke KennardA leading shooter who is 43.8% of 3 for his career.

All that helped the Hawks to jump in in that of Colin Ward-Henninger NBA Power Rankings.

This is the best team that Atlanta has ever placed Trae Young. But there is not much talk about Young, an incredibly individual offensive talent, but apathetic to the best off-ball player/defender and overall division player when he discusses whether he is a “winning” player.

But Atlanta wants to win and now win. As such, Brad Botkin says Young no longer has apologies.

  • Botkin: “It has got worse in the play -offs, where the Hawks are positive with Young, even counting the memorable 2021 -Run, which hardly shoots 40%, including 29% of 3 more than 37 career playoff games. Shooting is not everything. Young’s threat of thinking remains on average and he has large numbers. Good-Stats-Bad team, as the majority of the evidence has suggested … This year he has a fair chance to convert that script. “

🏈 NFL All Quart Century Intension

Keytron Jordan, CBS Sports Design

We have worked on a number of stories that celebrate in the first quarter of the 21st century, and we reach one of my favorites: the NFL All Quart Century Team, starting with the attack. Some phone calls were easier than others at “Starter”, but things get a bit hairy when filling in the depth card, especially with Quarterback. Bryan Deardo explains his choices.

  • Dado:Starter: Tom Brady; Reserves: Peyton Manning, Patrick Mahomes – Brady is largely considered as the ‘goat’, but Manning also belongs to every conversation about the Mount Rushmore from Quarterbacks. Nobody has won more League MVPs than the five of Manning. … the third quarterback place came down at Mahomes and Aaron Rodgers. Really, it came down to Mahomes with three Super Bowl victories for one of Rodgers, along with the fact that Mahomes played in four more super bowls than Rodgers. “

The cutbacks at a wide recipient might have been even more difficult, with Randy Moss, Marvin Harrison And Larry Fitzgerald get starting places and Terrell Owens, Calvin Johnson And Andre Johnson Reserves are mentioned. Julio Jones And Antonio Brown Deserved status “honorable mention”. Jones at its peak was just as good as everyone I have ever seen, except maybe Moss.

And don’t be surprised if it is in 25 years from now on, for the team of the entire half century, Justin Jefferson is a starter. His 96.5 receiving yards per competition is always for the first time. Maybe Ja’arrr Chase Is there too.

Bryan has done an excellent job on this. Moreover, the low season is a perfect time for lists that start with debate, just like this one. If it leads you to a rabbit hole from highlight videos … well … that’s not the worst result.
