Jonathan Toews to sign with Jets: Longtime Blackhawks star, Stanley Cup winner attempting comeback

After two seasons away from the ice, Jonathan Toews is Return their return at her Nhl with an agreement to sign with Winnipeg’s jets. The contract cannot be officially registered in the League until the free agency begins on July 1. Toews grew up in Winnpeg, so the talented striker will have the opportunity to play for his hometown team.

Toews last played professionally during the 2022-23 season when he recorded 31 points (15 goals and 16 assists) in 53 games with the Blackhawks. He recorded 14 goals and 14 assists in his first 46 games in 2022-23, but his health became a factor during the second half of the year.

In February 2023, Touws announced that he was still treating Symptoms of Covid-19, but eventually returned to the program in April. After the Blackhawks revealed that they were not re-signed, Touws announced that he stood in the 2023-24 campaign to focus on his health, although he did not announce a retirement.

Toews, 37, has had a legendary career to the moment. Winnipeg’s native helped drive the Blackhawks to three Stanley Cups. He also appeared in six All-Star games, winning the Conn Smythe trophy as Playoff MVP (2010) and capturing the Selke trophy as a defensive striker (2013).

Toews has accumulated 883 points (372 goals and 511 assists) in 1,067 regular career career matches. In the story of Blackhawks, it ranks fifth in the games played, sixth in points, six in goals, eighth in assists and third in game winners (69).

It is not clear what toews has left at the tank at this time of his career, but will join a team of jets that captured the presidents’ trophy with 116 points in 2024-25. Winnipeg won the first seed of the Western Conference, but was eliminated in six games by the Dallas Stars in the second round of the Playoffs of the Stanley Cup.
