2026 Olympic men’s hockey roster tracker: Connor McDavid, Auston Matthews headline first six for Canada, USA

With the 2026 winter Olympic Games in Italy less than a year old, the 12 national male hockey teams that participate are in the process of revealing the initial six players who will be in their respective. These teams will announce the rest of their courts on a later date near the Winter Games, which will begin next February.

Most teams now have presented which players will make their trip to Milan, and, as to wait, the North -Americans and Canadians are already full of stars. Connor McDavid and Sidney Crosby will be red and white for Canada while Auston Matthews and Matthew Tkachuk will practice red, white and blue for Team USA.

The 2026 winter Olympic Games will mark the first time that Nhl Players will compete in 12 years. NHL players last adapted to their countries in Russia in 2014. The 2026 field will not include Russia, as athletes in the country are still banned after the invasion of Russia in Ukraine.

Finland captured the gold medal at the 2022 winter Olympic Games with a victory over Russia, while Slovakia won the bronze medal with a victory against Sweden. Both Canada and the United States ended up losing in the quarterfinals.

But Canada will seek to defend his crown when it comes to better tournaments. The Canadians won a 3-2 victory for the United States in the final of the 4 nations facing the protagonist of Edmonton Oilers, Connor McDavid, who won the game winner last February.
