2025 NHL awards tracker: Sharks’ Macklin Celebrini, Canadiens’ Lane Hutson lead Calder Trophy finalists

With the Playoffs of the Stanley Cup move, the Nhl The process of announcing the finalists for each of their main awards for the 2024-25 season continues.

During 2025 Nhl Draft Lottery, the league announced the finalists of the Calder Trophy, who honors the first boyfriend. The three finalists of The Honor are Macklin celebres (San Jose Sharks), Lane Hutson (Montreal Canadiens) and Dustin Wolf (Calgary Flames).

Hutson became the fourth defender of the modern age (since 1943-44) to direct all rookies at points (66). He joined Bobby Orr (41), Brian Leetch (71) and Quinn Hughes (53) as the only blue liners to win this honor. Its 60 assists coincided with Larry Murphy (Kings, 1980-81) for attendance by a rookie defender in the history of the NHL. If he wins the Calder Trophy, he would become the third Canadian player to win the prize in the expansion period (since 1967-68) along with Brendan Gallagher (2012-13) and Ken Dryden (1971-72).

The league has also recently announced the finalists of the Selke Trophy, who honors the maximum defensive forward. The three prize finalists are Aleksander Barkov (Florida Panthers), Anthony Cirelli (Tampa Bay Lightning) and Sam Reinhart (Florida Panthers).

Barkov will look for the third Selke trophy of his career after winning the honor for his performance in 2023-24. The Panther Star, who is a finalist for the fourth time in the last five seasons, helped the Panthers placed between the Nhl’s The Top 10 in goals against competition (seventh, 2.72), at the same time occupying the tenth with a percentage of penalty death of 80.7%.

Barkov also blocked 54 shots while passing 87 times during the regular season. If he wins the prize, he would become the fourth player to get the feat in seasons to seasons with Patrice Bergeron, Pavel Datsyuk and Rod’amour.

The rest of the NHL awards will be announced daily in mid -May. The NHL 2025 awards will take place in June 2025, but an exact date has not yet been announced.

Vezina trophy

The vezina trophy is granted “to the goalkeeper awarded to be the best in his position”.

Norris Trophy

The Norris Trophy is given “the defensive player who demonstrates throughout the season the greater total capacity of the position”.

TED Lindsay Award

The TED Lindsay Award is awarded annually to “NHL’s most prominent player”.

Hart Trophy

The Hart trophy is given “to the awarded player to be the most valuable for his team”.

Selke Trophy

The Selke Trophy is awarded to “the striker who best stands out in the defensive aspects of the game”.

Jack Adams Award

The Jack Adams Award is given to the main coach, who “contributed more to the success of his team”.

Bill Masterton Memorial Trophy

The Masterton Trophy is awarded to “the player who best exemplifies the qualities of perseverance, sportsmanship and dedication to hockey”.

Lady Byng Trophy

The Lady Byng Trophy is the annual prize “to the player awarded for exposing the best kind of sportsmanship and gentle behaviors combined with a high level of play capacity.”

Calder Trophy

The Calder Trophy is given to “the player selected as the most expert in his first year of competition”.
