2025 NHL Awards tracker: Jets’ Connor Hellebuyck headlines Vezina Trophy finalists
With the Playoffs of the Stanley Cup in full evolution, the Nhl The process of announcing the finalists for each of their main awards for the 2024-25 season has begun.
On Monday, the league announced the finalists of the Vezina Trophy, who honors the highest scorer. The three finalists were Connor Hellebuyck (Winnipeg Jets), Darcy Kuemper (Los Angeles Kings) and Andrei Vasilevskiy (Tampa Bay Lightning).
Hellebuyck, who won the vezin trophy last season, gathered a 47-12-3 record to go together with a 2.01 goals in the average, a savings percentage of .925 and eight deposits in 63 games for the winning planes of the Presidents trophy. He directed the NHL in victories, goals in the average and the stops, as he finished second for a percentage of savings behind only the goalkeeper of Toronto Maple Leafs, Anthony Stolarz (.926).
If Hellebuyck wins the vezin trophy this season, would become the fourth goalkeeper to win the prize in consecutive seasons that joined Martin Brodeur, Dominik Hasek and Patrick Roy. Brodeur was the last netminder to won the prize in 2007 and in 2008 as a member of the New Jersey Devils.
The rest of the NHL awards will be announced daily in mid -May. The NHL 2025 awards will take place in June 2025, but an exact date has not yet been announced.
Vezina trophy
The vezina trophy is granted “to the goalkeeper awarded to be the best in his position”.
